Pittsburgh Railways Company
Inspired by Pittsburgh Railways Company (PRC), which once had over 600 miles of track running throughout the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area, this PRC is a set of module built to the East Penn Traction Club Standards. Construction is plywood framing with homasote laminated to ¼" plywood for roadbed. Street running track is hand laid Orr Girder Rail with single point turnouts. Private Right of Way track is Atlas Code 100 Flex track. Minimum radius is 7". To keep the modules light weight for transportation scenery is a sculpted foam base. Rock features are urethane castings to minimize weight and enhance durability. All modules are light enough to be carried by one person. Power is supplied by a Digitrax Zephyr using the live overhead.
The modules have been displayed with others from the Detroit United Railways Club at various Train Shows and Events in the Detroit area. They have also been displayed at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum along with modules from the East Penn Traction Club. When not on the road they serve as a home layout.
This layout is wheelchair accessible
