Detroit United Railway Club - Modular Trolley Layout

The Detroit United Railway (DUR) Club is a group of Traction/Streetcar Modelers who have a module group.  The Club’s display was awarded Best Operating Display at the 2013 East Penn Traction Meet in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The modules are each built by individual members and depict the streetcar era as it was in the 40s and 50s.  The rolling stock is mostly kit or scratch built cars that represent a variety of streetcar companies.  The modules include in-street and private right of way running through various scenic settings.  A unique feature of the DUR’s modules is the cars run off live overhead wire using DCC.
